Living Human Treasures: The Gems of Balat

The Gems of Balat project, carried out in collaboration with the MİRAS Cultural Sustainability Center and our Eyüboğlu IB Diploma Programme students, aims to strengthen peer solidarity by documenting intangible cultural heritage.

Before beginning the project, our students participated in an online training covering topics such as cultural bearers, cultural sustainability, field research methods, and interview techniques.

Through fieldwork with artisans, shopkeepers, and artists living in Balat, our students are preparing to create a bilingual archive and documentary content through research, documentation, and digital storytelling.

The project also aims to support the cultural and artistic initiatives carried out by the MİRAS Cultural Sustainability Center in Hatay.
