Our 23rd Parent Symposium was Held with Great Interest!
24 February 2026 Tuesday
“A Family Matter”
We proudly held the 23rd edition of our Parent Symposium, a tradition we have continued since 2000. In this meaningful gathering, we aimed to understand our children more deeply, reflect on our parenting journey from a new perspective, and collaboratively shape the educational process.
We believe that in this dynamic process—where our children continuously grow and evolve—education is not only for students, but also a lifelong learning journey for parents.
This year, we had the pleasure of hosting Prof. Dr. Zeynep Cihangir ÇANKAYA and Serdar ÇANKAYA from the widely followed “Bir Aile Meselesi” team. With the strong participation and interest of our parents, the first session, titled “From My Childhood to My Child: The Same Story? Do I Truly See My Child, or Am I Interpreting?”, explored in depth how parents’ own childhood experiences influence their parenting attitudes. Participants gained valuable insights into the transformative power of truly “seeing” their children and striving to understand them beyond preconceived judgments.
In the second session, “Today’s Parent: Between Anxiety, Intervention, and Relationship — Boundaries Are Not the Enemy of Love!”, the challenges of modern parenting were examined. The critical role of setting healthy boundaries in child development and ways to build strong parent-child relationships were shared through comprehensive, real-life examples.
Throughout the symposium, our speakers created a sincere and engaging atmosphere by connecting academic knowledge with everyday life. Our parents left not only with a solid theoretical framework, but also with practical and actionable approaches they could apply in their daily lives.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Prof. Dr. Zeynep Cihangir ÇANKAYA and Serdar ÇANKAYA for sharing their knowledge and experience so generously, and to all our parents whose participation and contributions enriched our symposium.
With our firm belief that children’s healthy development is possible when the education provided at school is supported by the relationships built at home and by consistent parenting attitudes, we remain committed to strengthening meaningful platforms that enhance school-family collaboration.
